Our connection with Inimǎ de Copil goes back to 1996 when Philippa Curtis, who had been working as our youth worker, went out to Romania to work with street children in Galați. She forged a connection with Anna Burtea who set up an organisation called Inimā de Copil.
A Charity, Heart of a Child Galati, was set up in the year 2000 to support the work of the Inimǎ de Copil Foundation by creating a child sponsorship scheme to remove children from an isolation unit in a hospital in Galați, who were diagnosed as being HIV positive after being given infected blood. The plan was to secure the rights of these children to a normal life, a family, and emotional support by establishing group homes of 4 to 5 children cared for by a house mother.
The charity Heart of a Child ceased functioning at the end of 2025 but, as a church, we have continued to support the work of Inimā de Copil.
We do our best to keep the church website up to date, but if you notice anything wrong or any links which do not work, please let us know by completing our feedback form .
