Welcome
Whether you've never stepped foot in a church before or have been coming here for years, everyone's invited and welcome to come and join us on Sundays at 10:30am. We want you to feel at home from the moment you walk through the door.
Gathering together on a Sunday should be the highlight of the week! It is when we come together as the body of Christ to worship God, to learn more about him and to enjoy fellowship together.
What to expect
Our service of worship starts at 10.30 and always includes singing, prayer and a message and occasionally testimonies, drama and video. Services normally last between 75–90 minutes.
Services are led by one of the elders or another suitable member of the church, and the talk is given by a visiting speaker or one of our home team. The style of worship varies according to who is leading, but normally encompasses a mixture of traditional hymns and modern songs. Currently, we are without a keyboard player, so we sing all of our songs to suitable YouTube videos. Different people are often involved in the service, for example, by giving a reading, prayers or testimonies.
You may sit anywhere you like in the church and wear whatever you feel comfortable in.
We do not take an offering during the service. Regular church attenders normally contribute financially to the work of the church through a regular standing order, but there is a donation box situated on table between the main church hall if you would like to make a donation.
We serve tea, coffee and biscuits (and, sometimes, cake!) after the service as we enjoy fellowship together. After the service most people stay for tea/coffee and a chat.
Our aim is that everyone coming to our Sunday service will feel uplifted and encouraged for the rest of the week having had an opportunity to praise God and to learn more about Him and His love for us.
Coming with children?
We love to have children at our services, but are also very aware that children find it hard to sit and concentrate for long. So, children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we sing songs and, maybe, have an illustrated talk of relevance to the children.
After 20 minutes or so, children leave the main service for their separate Sunday Club programme after which they return to the main church hall to be reunited with their parents/carers.
For those with very young children, there is plenty of room for them to run around at the back of the hall or, if you prefer, you can take them into the church lounge where you can follow the service on a TV screen.
Service recordings
We record all of our services and make these available online for anyone who is unable to attend. The service recording is a mix of the recorded spoken parts of the service, interspersed with YouTube videos of the songs we have sung.
Hard of hearing?
The church has a loop system for those who are hard of hearing.
Family service
Just under once a month, we have a family service aimed when children stay in the main church hall for the whole of the service. The talk and activities which take place during these services are aimed very much at the children.
Communion
Once a month, usually on the third Sunday of the month, we incorporate a celebration of the Lord's Supper into the service. We have an open table, which means that anyone who knows and loves the Lord Jesus is free to share in the bread and wine.
We also have an evening communion service once a month, usually on the first Sunday of the month. The service starts with a reflection on a passage of Scripture by the service leader, and then a time of open worship follows when people can share about God and His impact on their lives, choose a hymn or a song, or pray as they feel led by the Holy Spirit. The service ends with sharing bread and wine.
Service Topics
Talks during the service normally follow a series, which may be working through one of the books of the Bible, or may be topic based. Please email
diary@nantcoch.org.uk for a copy of the monthly diary, or take a look at one of the noticeboards outside the church, to see what our current topic is.
Are you a keyboard player?
If so, could you help us? Our long-serving keyboard player is no longer able to play and we would love to have live music again. If you would like to help, Please email
elders@nantcoch.org.uk.
